Cross-Industry Dialogue on Lifecycle Data and Digital Transparency
The ECO Platform Conference 2025, taking place on May 13 in Brussels, brings together leading voices from across industries to accelerate the digitalization and harmonization of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Among the key topics: how high-quality, product-level data from the chemical industry can support scalable and automated lifecycle assessments (LCAs) to enable more robust and transparent digital EPDs.
AllocNow will contribute to one of the event's breakout sessions:
“LCA at Industrial Scale – How Accurate Chemical Footprints Can Benefit EPDs.”
Together with BASF and WACKER Chemie, this session will explore how chemical suppliers can support downstream sustainability reporting through standardized, verifiable lifecycle data.
Speakers
Alessandro Pistillo (BASF), Dominik Auer (WACKER), and Daniel Bochnitschek (AllocNow) share insights on scalable LCA and digital EPDs.
Aligning with Digital EPD and LCA Requirements
EPDs are standardized, third-party verified documents used to communicate a product's environmental performance based on lifecycle assessment. Governed by ISO 14025 and EN 15804, they are particularly important in the construction industry, where regulations such as the EU Construction Product Regulation (CPR) increasingly require the disclosure of environmental characteristics.
For chemical suppliers, one of the key challenges lies in scaling the generation of EPD-ready data from primary enterprise sources. While corporate LCAs often follow the TfS PCF Guideline, which focuses on Global Warming Potential, EPDs demand reporting across 31 indicators and multiple lifecycle phases, including end-of-life modelling.
As regulatory and market expectations evolve, aligning internal LCA approaches with EPD methodologies has become a strategic priority. This session will explore how scalable LCA solutions can help address these requirements and strengthen digital transparency across sectors.
The breakout session will take place on May 13, 2025, in Brussels.
